Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP)

What our program offers:

This Social Emotional Learning program provides a safe and nurturing environment for kids to experience the performing arts in a fun and engaging way. Taught through the art of readers theater, children will learn skills that will encourage social and emotional well-being. KidsWorks programs enhance relationship skills, self-awareness, self-management, and responsible decision making while learning important tools for the craft of theater. Led by our artistic director and co-founder of Desert TheatreWorks, Lance Phillips, our camps are carefully curated to meet ELOP requirements.

We offer different versions of the program based on grade level. We have a 1st-2nd grade program, 3rd-5th program and a 6th-8th grade program. The program material and topics are age appropriate and are taught at grade level.

The program can be taught on your school site in 60-minute sessions either 1 day a week (9 sessions) or 2 days a week (18 sessions). *We are happy to discuss other options on a case-by-case basis*

Our program is currently offered at the following Desert Sands Unified Schools: Benjamin Franklin, Carrillo Ranch, Carter, Ronald Reagan and Van Buren.  If your school is not listed, please ask your school administrator to contact us.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Ron Phillips at (760) 412-1461 or e-mail ron@dtworks.org.
